Influenza, or the flu, is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses (types A, B, and C). It presents with sudden symptoms like fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, and fatigue. Spread through respiratory droplets, the flu can lead to complications such as pneumonia. Annual vaccinations and good hygiene practices are key in prevention and management.
